From optimism to despair in only two months.....

Just a few months ago I entered my 53rd season at the Rec bursting with optimism…….so much so that I planned to entertain clients at a Shots game in the autumn….

I wrote to our commercial department this week…..

‘’All of my clients think I'm slightly mad, travelling so far to watch just about all of our home and away games.....but they do like to hear my Shots stories......for example, my lunch at Fleetwood, in the Strawberry Gardens Pub, was prepared and served by none other than Sid Little (Little and Large) - he has the food concession!

But unfortunately our football at the Rec is just too bad at this moment in time for me to risk bringing clients all the way from Cardiff and beyond for a game......so for now I have to advise you that I will not be taking up the corporate hospitality offer.

If things pick up before Christmas then I will be back in touch......’’
And for the time being my blog has been forced into hibernation……it will return when once again I’m inspired by our scintillating play……on the other hand, it may return when the ‘pen’ has to be used to ‘restore factory settings’….achieved only by the removal of our current manager….

Dean……your time is running out!

The Stawberry Gardens, Fleetwood....great beer, good food, close to the Highbury Stadium........ and Sid Little is the perfect host.
