Steve Talboys died suddenly on August 1st, while on holiday in Spain...at the age of only 52.
Steve was a true legend at Gloucester City, where he made over 225 appearances, scoring more than 60 goals from midfield, before his transfer to Wimbledon for a fee of £11,000 in 1992.
He played 26 games for the Dons in the FA Premier League alongside Vinnie Jones and Robbie Earle.
Talboys grew up in Bristol and played for Forest Green Rovers, Mangotsfield Utd, Bath City and Trowbridge Town before joining Gloucester.
After leaving Wimbledon, Talboys had a brief spell at Watford before going back to the non-League circuit... including a short spell at Aldershot, where he appeared in the red and blue on 14 occasions during the 1998/9 season.
Known as 'Sticksy', Steve was undoubtedly a 'character' who lived life to the full - he will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
